You are a knowledgeable and results-oriented collections and recovery professional with expertise in bankruptcy, litigation, and debt recovery processes. You are a skilled negotiator and trusted problem-solver who balances member service with risk mitigation, ensuring compliance with complex legal and regulatory requirements. With strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and sound judgment, you work effectively with members, attorneys, trustees, and internal partners to minimize losses, protect the Credit Union’s interests, and achieve positive outcomes.

• Research and respond to inquiries from members and other Golden 1 departments and branches on delinquent loans and account problems. Monitor compliance of credit union policies and Fair Debt Collection Practices.
• File proof of claims, establish and maintain bankruptcy plan trackers, monitor stipulated judgment to ensure payments are received as agreed. Update the account files by indicating the date(s) payment(s). Make recommendations to file motion for relief of stay, review motions to value and ensure the liens are reconvened per statute or regulation.
• Review and recommend objection to Bankruptcy plans as needed to ensure Golden 1 recoverable are within statute. Document account summaries on all actions taken, to assess the need for escalated Member Care efforts.
• Recommend and prepare accounts for legal action based on account conditions and recovery strategies set by Member Care.
• Knowledge of all duties of a Member Care Rep I, II, Escalations Rep, and Member Care Support II
  * functions.
• Contact members, Trustees, and Attorneys by phone demonstrating a high level of negotiation skills to generate acceptable repayment plans that meet the needs of both the Credit Union and member.
• Knowledge of the charge off accounts, repossession, reinstatement, expulsion, redemption request and proof of claim process.
• Monitor and track approved attorney referral accounts for civil action.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of state, federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including SCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, BSA, Bankruptcy statutes, Proof of Claims Process, Wage Garnishments, Small claims, Legal Stipulation agreements, and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
• Represent Golden 1 during legal proceedings.
• Assist Management in preparing monthly reports and month end statistics for Senior Management for

• Support department goals by meeting performance standards in all areas of the collection process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
• 5+ years with Bankruptcy, Legal Settlements, loss mitigation, or related field (i.e. underwriting, credit etc.) with banks, savings and loans, credit unions or other finance companies required
