Job Description And DutiesDo you enjoy working in a fast‑paced remote‑centered environment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Information Officer I (Specialist) with experience working as a member of a communications team and as a spokesperson in media and public events.
Under direction of the Information Officer II, Senior Deputy Press Secretary, the Information Officer I (Specialist), Deputy Press Secretary, plans, writes, and edits internal and external communication designed to inform the public of the objectives and advance the goals of the California Department of Insurance (CDI). Activities range from routine to complex and sometimes involve sensitive topics that require a high level of professional judgment and coordination with supervisor(s) and CDI leadership.
Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 and related Pay Differential 386. PLP 2025 requires employees to receive a reduction in pay in exchange for monthly hours of PLP 2025 leave credits. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
