Position: EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (DISASTER PLANNING) with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will coordinate with Division staff and subordinate districts through the planning process for disaster response contingency operations.
* Report progress of FEMA Region plans to the Division's Chief, Emergency Management, and the USACE Director of Contingency Operations.
* Provide written guidance to USACE Division staff and subordinate districts for civil disaster contingency operations
* Produce written plans and operations orders for disaster response contingency operations.
* Coordinate planning activities with subordinate USACE districts to ensure plans are fully integrated.
* Synchronize USACE Division support to FEMA and US Northern Command through coordination with planning and liaison officers.
* Maintain contacts with planners at FEMA Regions, other Federal agencies, and field grade staff officer Requirements Conditions of employment
* The employee is required to remain accessible during duty and non-duty hours via telephonic communications systems to respond to emergency operations activities.
* Employee may be required to perform TDY away from home station, which may include overnight travel, with short notice and for extended periods.
* Travel during natural disasters may be subject to hazards.
* This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment. Qualifications Who May Apply:

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes Evaluating and analyzing contingency or emergency operations plans to identify organizational requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information

* You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
* This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
