Job Description And Duties

Under the close supervision of the Administrator I, Political Reform Audit Section, incumbent will learn all phases of the political reform audit work and conduct the least-to moderately difficult field audits of books, statements, and records supporting the statements and reports of lobbyists and their firms or employers filed under the Political Reform Act of 1974. Incumbent will contact and correspond with filers and/or their representatives, determine compliance with the provisions of the Political Reform Act and related regulations and prepare audit reports for all completed cases.
The incumbent will electronically access the Secretary of State for information information, downloads, and copies of filed reports and statements, prepare and populate schedule templates as well as creating schedules for facts unique to the case. The incumbent will determine sample selections for examination, schedule field appointments for travel throughout the state, including overnight travel up to 5 business days, and conduct the field audit work.
The incumbent will review electronic source documents and paper copies physically maintained. The incumbent will analyze and develop facts and evidence to form a technically sound conclusion supported by law, regulation, advice and source documents prepare an Information, Facts, Law, Analysis and Conclusion (IFLAC) work papers to support determinations made and submit timely written reports using departmental standards released to the public for findings determined to be material.
