Governmental Affairs Field Representative Salary: $70,000 to $73,000 annually | Hybrid near Sacramento, California

Join the California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) and help strengthen the connection between REALTORS®, local associations, and the policy making process.

This role offers the opportunity to build relationships across California, develop emerging REALTOR® leaders, and play an active role in legislative, political, and member engagement efforts. You'll work with a collaborative and mission-driven Governmental Affairs team while serving as a trusted resource to local associations, members, and key stakeholders.

What You'll Do Member Engagement & Leadership Development
  • Design and implement a regional engagement program to strengthen relationships with REALTORS®, Local Association staff, and key stakeholders with the expectation of expanding C.A.R.'s legislative, political and mobilization programs
  • Identify and develop REALTORS® as leaders and volunteers in support of C.A.R.'s legislative and political agendas to fulfill the various engagement objectives at C.A.R.
  • Participate and actively recruit members for in-district lobbying efforts and Legislative Day at the capitol
Governmental Affairs Programs & Mobilization
  • Develop and implement campaigns including member education, initiatives, and other mobilization priorities related to the objectives of the Governmental Affairs Programs
  • Educate and inform Local Association staff and key members in the area of PAC administration including reimbursements and other available resources related to political campaigns.
Political & Stakeholder Relations
  • Engage with public officials, their staff, as well as other key stakeholders
  • Gather and share local political intelligence with C.A.R., CREPAC and support candidate campaigns as needed
Communications & Outreach
  • In coordination with C.A.R. Communications, develop and post regional social media content that advances advocacy activities and increases member engagement
Industry Representation
  • Represent Governmental Affairs at key C.A.R. events and other industry related events
Data Management & Reporting
  • Manage lists, charts, and databases for the purposes of developing a network of REALTOR® members and other key stakeholders
  • Utilize project management software to update daily tasks, and other reporting requirements
What We're Looking For Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a related field.
Experience
  • Two or more years of experience in grassroots organizing, political campaigns, legislative affairs, public policy, trade associations, or a related field.
  • One or more years of experience independently managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience utilizing databases, CRM platforms, or similar systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to think strategically and collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
