The Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM), Program Data Reporting Division (PDRD) at the California DHCS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) within the Benefits and Eligibility Data Support Branch (BEDSB).

The Research Data Specialist II (RDS II) will independently conduct more complex data analysis, data validation, data issue resolution and data support functions for the Medicare and Duals Analytic Unit (MDAU). This will require ongoing data system and data analysis to support the Medi-Cal programs and the overall Department mission to provide Californians with access to affordable, integrated, high-quality health care in accordance with the Department of Health Care Services’ (DHCS) specifications and requirements.

The RDS II will work with programs and data systems to develop measurement specifications and reporting processes that will enable DHCS to manage the delivery of health care services that are covered and paid by Medi-Cal and/or Medicare programs, including primary care, acute care, and long-term care including home and community-based services for Medi-Cal and/or Medi-Cal and Medicare dually eligible beneficiaries.

Training and Development (T&D) assignments may be considered for this position for current California civil service employees. T&D assignments cannot exceed 24 months. However, successful T&D candidates may transition to a permanent appointment, if eligible at the end of the T&D assignment.
