We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team, focusing on therapy, rehabilitation, and art therapy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to create and implement a monthly calendar of therapeutic activities that enrich the lives of participants.
Responsibilities- Develop monthly therapeutic activity calendars in collaboration with others.
- Obtain and manage resources such as music, slides, tapes, books, games, and other recreational equipment.
- Coordinate with community groups to arrange engaging programs for participants.
- Assist with general activities including greeting participants, reality orientation, food service, and toileting.
- Implement scheduled activities and foster a warm, supportive community atmosphere.
- Plan personalized activities for participants with special needs, working closely with the Supervisor.
- Assist in the evaluation and care planning for prospective participants.
- Complete required evaluations and documentation, maintaining accurate patient records.
- Provide supportive contact for individuals with emotional or functional limitations.
- Monitor and respond to functional changes in participants, adjusting programs accordingly.
- Ensure participant safety by noting and communicating any health changes.
- Provide training and assign tasks to Senior Care volunteers.
- Monitor and provide feedback on volunteer performance.
- Assist with volunteer paperwork, evaluations, and attendance records.
- 2 years of recent relevant experience.
- Understanding of the needs of the elderly, including mobility, sensory, and cognitive concerns.
- Sensitivity to the activities and educational needs of diverse ethnic groups.
- Familiarity with basic recreation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills using existing procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
