Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing screening as well ensuring quality control (QC) in the imaging process. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to accurately capture and interpret breast images for early detection of breast cancer. Their primary duties include positioning patients, operating mammography equipment, and maintaining patient records. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining and calibrating the equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
Mammography technologists must also adhere to safety protocols and provide compassionate care to patients during the screening process.

- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- Valid CRT (M) CA Mammography State Certificate
- ARRT Mammography Certificate
- Applicant must be up to date on State requirements for Mammography Performance
- Digital 8-hour 2D and 3D Certificate
- Graduation from a Radiologic Technologist Program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
- Comprehensive understanding of basic Mammography imaging, and knowledge of Radiology equipment, supplies, and drugs
- Knowledge and ability to operate radiographic and auxiliary equipment to produce a quality product; adaptability to new programs and equipment upgrades
- Physical ability to perform all functions of a mammography technologist
- Ability to organize workload by priority to produce a sufficient volume of work in a timely manner
- Demonstrates responsibility and dependability in attendance, punctuality, attitude, and maintenance of equipment and work area
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics when lifting and transporting patients and moving radiology equipment
- Ability to assist patients with limited mobility or special needs
- Flexibility to assist with mammography services at various locations
- Ability to maneuver portable radiology equipment in tight spaces
- Ability to travel to other UC Davis imaging facilities as needed
- Knowledge of health system and departmental policies to perform job functions
- Conveys instructions and information appropriately
- A.S. in Radiologic Science/Radiologic Technology
- 1 year of experience in mammography
- 90% - General Mammography Technologist Duties
- 10% - General Department Functions
