What You’ll DoAs a DSP, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving the highest possible quality of life. You will promote their safety, well-being, independence, and personal goals while serving as their advocate.
Essential Responsibilities- Follow and support daily routines according to each client’s Individual Program Plan (IPP)
- Participate in developing and supporting IPP/ISP goals
- Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe living environment
- Facilitate social, recreational, and community activities
- Assist with personal care (grooming, toileting, dressing, hygiene)
- Prepare meals and assist with clean-up
- Transport clients using company vehicles as needed
- Report incidents and communicate daily with administrators
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of personal or professional caregiving experience
- Preferred: experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs
- DSP Certificate (Year 1 &
2) and CPI training (Preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire) - First Aid/CPR (Preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days)
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
