Senior QA Automation Engineer; Medi-Cal​/CA-MMIS

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior QA Automation Engineer (Medi-Cal / CA-MMIS) opening for our premier client.

An Application Architect with Quality Engineering expertise designs and implements test solutions for enterprise-level applications, integrating test automation technologies to maximize test coverage and efficiency. This role collaborates with business analysts, product owners, solution architects, and project managers to tailor test solutions to specific project needs. The architect specializes in various testing approaches, tools, and methodologies, including model-based testing, BDD, TDD, test optimization, environment management, test data management, virtualization, cloud, and AI-driven test automation.

They provide technical leadership for all test activities, from test requirements to test design and execution, and assist Test Managers with overall test planning. The role focuses on enhancing test quality, productivity, and cycle time improvements through technology-driven test automation, with a strong emphasis on high ROI. The Application Architect with Quality Engineering skills is responsible for designing and implementing test solutions that integrate with Agile and Dev Ops-based development approaches, ensuring high levels of automation and seamless collaboration with development teams.

They also contribute to performance optimization and tuning of the application infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance and availability.

• Full‑stack testing expertise across UI, API, backend, and healthcare systems, with strong domain knowledge in Medi‑Cal/CAMMIS.
• Hands‑on experience with Provider/Member Portals, Claims processing, Eligibility & Enrollment, and CAMMIS program workflows.
• Strong automation skills using Selenium, IQP Plus, and CI/CD integration, with the ability to design and maintain automation frameworks.
• Technical proficiency in SQL, API testing (Postman), mainframe concepts (COBOL/JCL), and cloud testing (AWS/Azure).
• Skilled in test strategy, planning, defect management, and Agile/Scrum delivery with excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to mentor junior testers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams including developers, BAs, and operations.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $118,000 to $127,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
