Mainframe Application Developer (COBOL / CA-MMIS) – Journeyman opening for our premier client.

An Application Developer with Mainframe Modernization expertise is well-versed in the fundamental concepts and technologies related to both mainframe systems and modernization. They possess the ability to develop codes for both in-place mainframe modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms, including z-cloud. This skillset encompasses support for mainframe migration to other cloud environments. The developer is proficient in various technologies, such as COBOL systems, Java, JSON, API, Microservices, SaaS, Edge, Off-premises applications, network security, Kubernetes, Dev Ops, Db2, CICS, Web Sphere, and MQ.

Required skills:

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe applications, healthcare claims processing knowledge is preferred.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and mainframe program logic.

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM-based CA-MMIS mainframe applications.

• Perform unit, integration, and regression testing.

• Extensive knowledge on Medicaid AR (Account Receivable) and cash control processing and support.

• Implement and support zOS Connect APIs to integrate with cutting edge technologies in AWS Cloud.

• Implement and support DVM (Data Virtualization Manager) APIs to expose legacy Mainframe data to modern interfacing systems.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $102,000 to $112,000 annually. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
