Role OverviewCovered California’s Information Technology Division seeks an experienced Information Technology Specialist II to serve as the Microsoft Platforms & Automation Product Manager. The role provides strategic and technical leadership for Microsoft 365 (M365) services and automation platforms that support collaboration, digital transformation, and secure business operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full lifecycle of Microsoft platforms, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, and emerging AI and Copilot capabilities.
- Partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to align platform strategy with business needs.
- Oversee platform governance, adoption, and security, ensuring compliance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships and licensing agreements.
- Deliver clear communication and recommendations to leadership on platform initiatives.
- Translate business needs into scalable, secure technology solutions that drive operational efficiency.

Desirable Qualifications- Experience serving as a product owner, platform lead, or primary administrator for Microsoft 365 and/or Power Platform services in a medium‑to‑large enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and supporting Power Platform solutions using governance‑aligned patterns and secure environment strategies.
- Experience implementing or operating within governance frameworks for Microsoft platforms, including security, data protection, licensing, and compliance.
- Proven ability to lead or support technology adoption efforts, including developing communication strategies, training materials, and guidance for technical teams, business users, and executive stakeholders.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Azure Fundamentals) or demonstrated commitment to continuous learning in cloud platforms, automation, and AI‑enabled productivity tools.
Eligible for telework. Employees may be required to report to the worksite with minimal notification in case of urgent need. Work location is Sacramento County at our Cal Expo Office, 1601 Exposition Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95815. Business travel may be required.
Travel InformationTravel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters are not reimbursable, except for authorized transit subsidies.
