Job Description
Infosys is seeking a Datacenter Operations Engineer
. This role requires close partnership and collaboration with other Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Sacramento, CA or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 6 months of Information Technology experience.
- At least 6 months of experience with Hands and feed support for Data Center operations.
- Candidates authorized to work for any employer in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Infosys is unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this role at this time.
- Experience with Hands and feed support for Data Center operations.
- Candidates must be available to work onsite on a
rotating /fixed shift timings
at respective Datacenter to provide support. It includes both on demand onsite support, and extended shift coverage as needed. - Candidate must be available to work on a rotating shift schedule to provide support at Datacenter.
Shift 1 06:00–15:00 PST
Shift 2 14:00–23:00 PST
Shift 3 22:00–07:00 PST
- New Installations of IT devices:
- Break / Fix repairs:
○ NIC’s ○ SFP’s ○ Memory ○ Hard Drives
- Decommissions and Cabling:
- Entries into Hardware Receiving System:
- Collaborate with Technology team members to ensure efficient operation of the organization’s Datacenter operations environment.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, messages, emails and/or work orders regarding datacenter operations problems.
- Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with project guidelines.
- Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to technical teams, business stakeholders.
- Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment.
- Good Communication and Analytical skills.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
