Job Description And Duties
Under general supervision of the Information Technology Manager I, the incumbent will work in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to support the Department of Justice’s desktop hardware and software applications. Responsibilities include testing, diagnosing, and correcting desktop computer problems; installing and upgrading software; evaluating and purchasing new software and hardware; providing end‑user support and training for all desktop software products; assisting in the development, testing, installation, and maintenance of standard DOJ PC images;
acting as a lead on departmental IT projects; responding to calls to the TAC help desk; and entering, updating, and tracking client requests using Ivanti ITSM. The incumbent may be called to provide support to DOJ clients, attend meetings, travel to DOJ satellite offices, and may be required to be on call 24 hours a day in emergency instances.

QualificationsRange C applies to individuals who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and have completed four years of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Specialist I. Upon meeting the criteria and by recommendation of the appointing authority, employees shall be placed in this range with rates as provided by California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.676 and 599.674.
