Job Description And Duties

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I the incumbent will provide network technical services at the expert-level for more complex Network implementations. The incumbent works independently as a high-level technician specialist on the maintenance on larger and more complex Network systems and acts as a team lead on the larger and more complex systems software projects. The incumbent will work closely with customers as well as other Department of Justice service areas in the analysis of business and technical requirements, product specifications, and design necessary to develop and implement Network components, functions, hardware, and software.

This will include the more complex Network installations and configurations as well as tuning, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. The incumbent contributes toward the growth of the Technology Support Bureau into a customer-focused service organization. Additionally, the incumbent will continuously improve communications and relationships with subordinates, peers, management, customers, and vendors.

A. This range shall apply to persons who do not meet the criteria for Range B or Range

C.

B. This range shall apply to persons who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and who have also completed two years of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Specialist I.

C. This range shall apply to persons who meet the Minimum Qualifications for the classification and who have also completed four years of satisfactory additional experience performing duties equivalent to or higher than an Information Technology Specialist I.:
When the requirements for the criteria are met and upon recommendation of the appointing power, the employee shall receive a rate under the provisions of California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.676. Upon movement to Range C, the employee shall receive a rate under the provisions of California Code of Regulations, title 2, section 599.674 shall apply.
