Under broad direction of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Operations & Compliance Section Manager, the IT Specialist II serves as an EA Operations & Compliance Lead. You will work closely with FTB’s managers, technicians, architects, and business partners to provide EA compliance leadership, consultation services, and recommendations in the design and function of FTB’s current and future business processes and technology solutions.

Your focus will include operations of EA strategies and monitoring to ensure compliance, including accessibility standards, while leveraging practical expertise in installing, operating, and administering enterprise compliance software. This role demonstrates a depth of leadership, tact, and professionalism during internal and external collaborations, engaging in continual education on industry technology and best practices, digital transformation and operational trends to help identify and guide projects and initiatives that provide the greatest value to the department and citizens of California.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with developing, interpreting, or applying IT policies and standards for compliance
  • Experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and administering EA related technology tools
  • Experience providing expert technical support for complex EA software
  • Ability to effectively facilitate and lead meetings
  • Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional or organizational team(s)
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills effectively communicating to both business and technology stakeholders in a hybrid work environment
  • Experience documenting and diagramming IT systems
  • Willingness and ability to learn to prepare and present clear, concise and accurate reports, for business, technical, and management groups
  • Experience developing and maintaining comprehensive IT Portfolios, conducting IT acquisition reviews, adding new or updated service dashboard items
  • Experience developing and maintaining clear and concise current system upgrade road maps and operationalized future‑state views that also include accessibility standards
  • Familiar with accessible technology concepts and standards
  • Willingness and ability to learn how to market services across an organization
  • Willingness and ability to learn about FTB’s technical systems and components
  • Willingness and ability to learn about FTB’s business services
