The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system called Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) to streamline the hiring process. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Specific telework schedules will be discussed during the interview process. Telework is only available to residents of California.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II) within Offender Management Solutions (OMS), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) develops, implements, and maintains IT systems supported by Enterprise Information Services (EIS) for program areas including (but not limited to) the Division of Adult Parole Operations, Division of Rehabilitative Programs, Division of Adult Institutions, and the Board of Parole Hearings.

ITS I will participate in the analysis of user needs, systems analysis, functional and detailed design, documentation, testing, installation activities, evaluation, user support, and training. The incumbent may also prepare written and ad‑hoc reports and presentations.

Working Conditions

The main EIS location is a park‑like campus setting across from the Folsom Lake auto dealerships in Rancho Cordova, close to US Highway 50 and the Hazel light rail station. We are minutes from historic Sutter Street, the Folsom Premium Outlets, and many dining establishments.

The position is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed or required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
