GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The UX Architect is responsible for the evolution and continuous improvement of member/user experience across Golden 1’s digital channels, including the public website, online banking and the mobile app, and any custom-built properties. Understands, captures, and translates business and functional objectives into interactive prototypes with detailed IA and UI/UX design specifications. Leads the build /update of digital interfaces by providing guidance or directly working on the frontend, making sure all visual and textual assets are SEO and ADA compliant.
Partners with the UX researchers to initiate and lead usability and accessibility studies. Creates, manages, and maintains the internal design system. Closely collaborates with the rest of the Digital UX & Product Management team, Martech team, Marketing, IT, and other LOB stakeholders, acting as liaison and a UCD champion. Actively facilitates IA and UX/UI-related efforts, representing the team in cross-functional efforts in addition to other assigned IA and UX/UI resources.
Builds and maintains a close working relationship with all stakeholders, across all levels of the enterprise, including the executive management up to the SVP level.
This role requires expertise in both UX Design and Information Architecture.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Management Information Systems and/or comparable experience. Master’s degree preferred. UX Certification (e.g., Nielsen UX Master) strongly preferred.

Seven or more years of UI and UX design and development work.

Advanced working knowledge of Sitecore, or similar enterprise-grade CMS. Expert-level skills with front‑end development languages such as HTML, CSS, jQuery/JavaScript, etc., frameworks such as Bootstrap, and use of industry‑standard design and prototyping tools within Adobe CC, Microsoft, etc. Ability to understand and translate business and user requirements, as well as technical considerations into web copy, wireframes, comps and other deliverables.
Proven record of effectively utilizing usability and web analytics concepts and methodologies. Superb interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams throughout the organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills with people of all technical levels and ability to interpret technical language into business language and vice versa. Demonstrated ability in utilizing Golden 1’s new and existing technologies, taking advantage of such to digitize processes for the team and LOBs.
Ability to think strategically and make decisions in the best interest of the credit union.
