The Office of Water Programs (OWP) on the Sacramento State campus is seeking to hire one undergraduate student assistant to help department staff with a variety of information technology (IT) programs and systems.
Conditions of EmploymentThis is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI position for a different UEI position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week’s notice.
PrerequisitesMust be a student enrolled in at least six-semester units (undergrad) or four-semester units (graduate) students.
Majors/Fields of StudyComputer Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering, or Science and Technology Studies
Work ScheduleFlexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. Final work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Additional Work ScheduleStudent Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
Compensation$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications- Ability to communicate (written and verbally) clearly and courteously with end-users.
- At least three regular semesters of education remaining before graduation.
- Previous experience in desktop support (MS Windows and Office, Adobe products), hardware support, or software support.
- Desktop support, installing software and peripherals, and drive mapping.
- Hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- System configuration, including Windows installation and software setup.
- Provide desktop support for MS Windows and Office, Adobe products, and other software as requested.
- PC assembly and repair.
- System configuration, deployment, and maintenance.
- Network support.
- Documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
