Windows Server Engineer

FORTIS is a growing managed services provider (MSP) supporting a portfolio of business clients across telecom and IT. We're hiring a Windows Server Engineer to own server environments end to end: deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and the project work that keeps our clients running. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can move between Active Directory design, Microsoft 365 administration, and on-prem-to-cloud migrations without missing a step.

You'll work directly with our team and clients, manage multiple projects at once, and have real ownership over the infrastructure decisions that matter.

• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments for performance and reliability.
• Design and manage Active Directory, including GPOs, user and group management, and security best practices.
• Administer Microsoft 365 Enterprise across user management, security, compliance, and service health.
• Configure and manage firewalls and network security appliances.
• Lead and prioritize multiple concurrent projects and Statements of Work, delivering on time and in scope.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
• Track time and services accurately and hit agreed KPIs.

• You re expert-level in a few areas and Tier 3 across most of the stack below.
• Infrastructure: Microsoft desktop and server OS (all versions), SAN/NAS, backup/recovery/replication/archival, Hyper-V, networking (TCP/IP, routing protocols, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, DNS, SD-WAN), firewall technologies, WiFi infrastructure, subnetting.
• Systems: Active Directory, IIS, Exchange Online, SharePoint, RDS/Terminal Services, SCCM, Entra/Azure/Intune, and Microsoft 365 on-prem-to-cloud conversions with hybrid-cloud support. Working knowledge of Power Shell scripting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and a genuine commitment to client satisfaction.

• Frequent sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying. Must be able to perform these tasks as needed.
