Job Description and DutiesUnder the general direction of the IT Manager II, the IT Supervisor II manages, develops, implements, operates, and maintains critical applications, including legacy batch and interface systems. The role ensures ongoing support, enhances, converts, and/or migrates functionality to modern platforms and techniques that comply with open standards and APIs. The supervisor works with staff and bureaus to benefit the overall organization and external partners, focusing on the Software Engineering domain.
- Effectively manage information systems and equipment.
- Plan, communicate, and implement responsible information technology policies and solutions.
- Share and transfer information technology knowledge and tools.
- The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
- Position requires fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice.
- Describe a complex application development or modernization project you supervised or led, explaining the business problem, systems involved, your role, constraints, and measurable outcomes.
- Describe a situation when you managed or resolved a major issue in a batch job or system interface, including root cause, identification methods, coordination with staff and stakeholders, and preventive changes.
- Describe a situation where you addressed a performance or skill gap in a staff member on your team, explaining the steps taken, communication of expectations, measurement of progress, and final outcome.
