Overview

The Enterprise Data Architect is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, CA. This role is responsible for defining and maintaining the enterprise data architecture, including data models, data flow diagrams, and integration patterns across multiple systems and platforms. The Enterprise Data Architect collaborates with business and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements, translate them into scalable solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational strategy and governance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assess existing data environments and design data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Establish data quality and metadata standards; guide teams on best practices for data integration, security, and performance.
  • Document architectural decisions and mentor development and analytics teams.
  • Support ongoing optimization of data assets to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable solutions aligned with governance standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise data architecture, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration across complex environments.
  • Proficiency in modern data platforms and technologies (e.g., relational databases, cloud data services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and ETL/ELT tools).
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and metadata standards, with the ability to implement policies and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate architectural concepts clearly, and provide technical leadership and guidance.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices in information security and regulatory compliance related to data (such as HIPAA, PCI, or similar frameworks), especially in sectors like healthcare, financial services, or telecommunications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., data architecture, cloud, or database certifications) are beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing environment and background in IT staffing or services organizations is a plus.
