Sr. Enterprise Architect

Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect in a hybrid role in Sacramento, CA, who provides enterprise-wide architectural leadership for large-scale modernization and transformation initiatives, with deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, hybrid cloud migrations, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, API platforms, resiliency, and cost optimization. This role leads complex, multi-domain efforts impacting multiple programs, departments, and business units, while ensuring alignment between IT systems and organizational business processes.

Key Responsibilities Expected in the Role Enterprise Architecture & Transformation Leadership Â
· Apply enterprise architecture principles to guide IT strategy, solution design, and technology governance. Â
· Lead enterprise-wide modernization and transformation initiatives impacting multiple programs, departments, or business domains. Â
· Align IT systems with organizational business processes. Â
· Serve in a lead architectural capacity. AWS Cloud Architecture & Governance Â
· Design AWS architectures supporting multi-account AWS Organizations. Â
· Conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews and remediation. Â
· Define cloud standards and reference architecture. Hybrid Cloud Migration Â
· Architect and support enterprise hybrid cloud migrations. Â
· Design solutions across networking, security, compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery. Infrastructure as Code Â
· Design and implement IaC using Terraform and AWS Cloud Formation. Â
· Create reusable IaC modules and patterns. API & Container Platforms Â
· Design enterprise API Gateway architectures. Â
· Architect and support Kubernetes / Amazon EKS environments. Backup & Disaster Recovery Â
· Architect hybrid cloud backup and recovery strategies. Â
· Design and test repeatable recovery processes. Executive Communication Â
· Deliver executive-level presentations and architectural analysis. Mandatory Certifications
· AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
· Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
· AWS Certified Security Additional Mandatory Qualifications (within the last 10 years)
· Seven (7) years designing reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns
· Five (5) years IaC using Terraform and Cloud Formation
· Seven (7) years AWS architecture experience
· Five (5) years enterprise API Gateway architectures.
· Seven (7) years aligning IT systems with business processes
· Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or four (4) additional years of experience.
