Job Summary

Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, Application Security Unit, the incumbent reviews application/system architecture, configuration, and changes to ensure compliance with information security policies and procedures, protecting taxpayer and employee information. This position falls within the Information Technology domain of Information Security Engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Review application/system architecture, configuration, and changes to ensure compliance with information security policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to safeguarding taxpayer and employee information.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of web servers, web applications, and multi-tier application design
  • Experience working with application vulnerability scanners and penetration tools
  • Ability to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical & non-technical staff
  • Familiarity with web application security flaws such as those documented in the OWASP Top 10
  • Experience with application development and system development life cycle
  • Experience leading large enterprise projects requiring ability to educate and mentor members of project team
  • Experience preparing reports to management related to progress of activities.
  • Ability to perform information systems assessments to verify policy compliance and security standards are in place.
  • Experience recommending strategies for re- engineering information systems
  • Experience with app security policies and standards
  • Experience with secure coding and development best practices
  • Experience developing N Tier applications
