Position Overview

Under the general direction of the IT Manager (ITM I), the Information Technology Specialist I (Project Manager) leads and manages IT projects related to Senate Bill 704 Firearms Barrel Project at an expert level. This role plans, schedules, and directs project activities, collaborates with cross‑functional teams, and ensures alignment with state IT standards and policies.

• Plan, schedule, and lead IT project activities for SB 704, including system development methods and industry best practices.
• Prepare and guide the Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) deliverables, Special Project Reports, Post‑Implementation Evaluation Reports, Economic Analysis Worksheets, and Financial Analysis Worksheets.
• Apply project management concepts from CM‑PMF, PMBOK, the California PAL, and state IT policies.
• Manage project resources, including finances, technology, intellectual property, risk, and budgeting.
• Communicate progress and risks to multiple teams and stakeholders and maintain accountability lines.

• Minimum qualification of an Information Technology Specialist I.
• Strong experience in IT project management, preferably with legislative or government projects.
• Knowledge of California Project Management Framework (CA‑PMF) and PMBOK.

$6,513.00 – $8,729.00 (A), $7,163.00 – $9,599.00 (B), $7,864.00 – $10,537.00 (C). New‑to‑State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the selected range.

Sacramento County – Hybrid – Permanent, Full Time – Day Shift – Monday‑Friday.
