Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to support a production storage, virtualization, and backup environment. This position will focus on daily platform administration, system reliability, ticket resolution, upgrades, automation, and operational support. The engineer must be comfortable working independently in an onsite enterprise environment and responding to both scheduled maintenance activities and unexpected technical issues.
Responsibilities- Administer and maintain Net App storage systems and VMware infrastructure
- Monitor platform health, capacity, availability, and performance
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents and service tickets
- Perform system patching, firmware updates, upgrades, and configuration changes
- Support backup, recovery, and data protection operations using Commvault
- Troubleshoot storage, virtualization, backup, and operating system issues
- Respond to infrastructure support requests from technical and business teams
- Develop Power Shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency
- Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and configuration records
- Coordinate maintenance activities while minimizing production disruption
- Hands‑on experience supporting Net App storage environments
- Strong VMware administration and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with Commvault backup and recovery
- Proficiency with Power Shell scripting
- Experience performing firmware upgrades, patching, and platform maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and incident‑resolution skills
- Ability to work onsite in Sacramento, California
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting large‑scale or business‑critical infrastructure
- Knowledge of storage provisioning, replication, snapshots, and capacity management
- Experience building infrastructure automation and operational scripts
- Familiarity with change management and production support procedures
