Server Administrator

The position involves deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based servers, workstations, and enterprise applications, including MS Exchange Online, Office 365, SharePoint, Azure, and Active Directory.

The role requires maintaining and supporting virtualization platforms/hypervisors (backup/recovery systems, and other physical devices). The individual will provide Tier 2/3 support to end-users and business units, resolving escalated technical issues across hardware, software, and networking.

Documentation of procedures, system configurations, and known issues is essential, as well as contributing to the knowledge base for internal IT use. Participation in IT projects, including new system implementations, migrations, and process improvement initiatives, is also part of the role.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers, workstations, and enterprise applications, Office 365, SharePoint, Azure, and Active Directory.
• Maintain and support virtualization platforms/hypervisors backup/recovery systems
• Provide Tier 2/3 support to end-users and business units, resolving escalated technical issues across hardware, software, and networking.
• Assist in planning and executing system upgrades, patches, and configurations in accordance with best practices and security policies.
• Document procedures, system configurations, and known issues; contribute to the knowledge base for internal IT use.
• Collaborate with security and quality teams to ensure systems are aligned with organizational standards and controls.
• Participate in IT projects, including new system implementations, migrations, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure service desk ticketing system is updated accurately and closed in a timely manner with clear documentation.
• Performs other related duties as needed and assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 3+ years of professional experience in a system administrator or equivalent technical role.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Active Directory, Office 365 administration, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Hands‑on experience with VMware or similar virtualization technologies.
• Proficient in troubleshooting system and network issues and identifying root causes.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Commitment to providing exceptional internal customer service and support.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Flexibility to occasionally work after‑hours or weekends for system maintenance or urgent issues.
• Ability to follow & enforce established processes and security guidelines and effectively communicate them to users
• Ability to follow Fortis policies and procedures and system usage practices

The salary range for the role is $70,000 - $100,000 per year.
