The ideal candidate is a hands-on security engineer with deep expertise in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and Microsoft security technologies. This person will partner closely with internal teams, leadership, and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to implement strategic security improvements and establish sustainable security operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of a company-wide cybersecurity remediation and modernization program.
  • Design, implement, and operationalize security controls aligned with Zero Trust principles across identity, endpoint, network, cloud, workloads, email, and data.
  • Develop and enhance detection engineering capabilities, including SIEM use cases, alert tuning, threat hunting, and log analytics.
  • Drive incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
  • Partner with MSSPs and internal stakeholders to improve security monitoring, vulnerability management, and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage security remediation projects and track progress against organizational risk reduction goals.
  • Administer and secure Microsoft Entra  (Azure AD), Microsoft Purview, and related security technologies.
  • Develop Power Shell automation to improve security operations and reporting capabilities.
  • Conduct security assessments, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions across infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on cybersecurity best practices, governance, and compliance initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
  • 7–10+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience.
  • Strong experience implementing and supporting Zero Trust security architectures

  • Expertise in incident response, threat detection, and detection engineering
    .
  • Experience with:
  • Splunk
  • Palo Alto Networks security solutions
  • Crowd Strike or Sentinel One
  • Vulnerability management platforms and remediation programs
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Purview
  • Power Shell scripting and automation
  • Experience working alongside MSSPs and managing security remediation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, endpoint security, cloud security, identity security, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading cybersecurity recovery, remediation, or "get-well" initiatives.
  • Background in cloud security platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience implementing security controls within highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, SC-100, SC-200, AZ-500, or equivalent.
  • Experience building automated security workflows and security orchestration capabilities.
