Department Overview

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) collects revenue for state programs and requires IT professionals to support its technology services. The Technology Services Division (TSD) seeks a Network Architect to lead enterprise network design and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the lead Network Architect for CDTFA, overseeing all aspects of the enterprise network.
  • Provide guidance to and mentor other network and IT team members.
  • Delegate responsibilities to other Network Administrators.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure reliability and security.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in networking, including expertise in public cloud networking (Azure and AWS), switching, routing, firewalls, and network topologies.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and manage enterprise networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with network security best practices and policy compliance.
Special Requirements
  • Participation in E‑Verify and passing a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Travel up to 10% of time, including occasional overnight lodging.
  • Availability by phone and/or email as required.
  • Consistent, predictable attendance.
