Position: SUPERVISING PROGRAM TECHNICIAN II

Job Description and Duties

The California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Firearms ensures that the state’s firearms laws are administered fairly, enforced vigorously, and understood uniformly throughout California. We are hiring a Supervising Program Technician II to assist with the Carry Concealed Weapons licensing program.

Under the general supervision of a Supervisor I, in the Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) Licensing Team, the Supervising Program Technician II (SPT II) supervises technical operations in the CCW Team. Duties include supervising support staff assigned to the CCW Licensing Team; assisting in planning and directing CCW Licensing Team technical operations; and advising the CCW License Team Crime Analyst Supervisor (CAS) of technical issues related to CCW firearms laws and regulations.
