Aboutthe Role
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement activities. This role owns purchasing strategy, supplier relationships, and cross-functional coordination on supply needs, while overseeing a small purchasing team focused on placing purchase orders and following up on open and late supplier deliveries.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fluid environment where priorities shift often, brings strong leadership and negotiation skills, and can balance cost and quality with suppliers effectively.
Areas of Responsibility- Lead supply chain strategies supporting material cost reduction, supplier on‑time delivery (OTD), inventory reduction, supplier quality, and lead‑time improvement
- Develop and manage alternate material replenishment methods (consignment, kanban, vendor‑managed inventory) to increase turns while supporting on‑time delivery and lead‑time reduction
- Own tactical procurement, receiving, stockroom, and shipping functions, including personnel and data integrity
- Address all issues affecting supplier on‑time delivery and product quality
- Develop and lead a team of buyer‑planners and material handlers
- Coordinate meetings and publish minutes to keep leadership informed on issues that may cause shipment delays
- Support new product introduction procurement requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Secondary certification preferred (APICS, CSCP, CPSM, or similar)
- 10+ years of supply chain experience; 5+ years managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience developing visual standard work and ensuring process compliance
- Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Where‑Used reports
- Strong MS Office and ERP/MRP systems experience
- Knowledge of international markets and related logistics preferred
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Detail‑oriented, self‑starting, professional demeanor
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, fully on‑site in the Sacramento, CA area.
