Purpose
The Equipment Operations Specialist coordinates the deployment, utilization tracking, and maintenance scheduling of the company's equipment fleet, combining hands-on logistics coordination with recordkeeping and regulatory compliance to support field operations.
Focus & ScopeEssential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
Reports To:
- Equipment Operations Manager
Direct Reports:
- None
External Clients:
- Rental vendors, manufacturers, service providers, and regulatory agencies.
Internal Clients:
- Dispatch, Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, Shop Foremen, Shop Clerks, and other members of the Mobile Equipment team.
Education:
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Minimum of five years of resource allocation or similar experience required.
- Experience in heavy equipment allocation preferred
Job Requirements:
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
- Current on all company required safety and regulatory training
- Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts of interest
- Comprehensive knowledge and/or willingness to learn heavy equipment needs and use
- Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end equipment and asset life cycles
- Strong skills in resource allocation and decision making
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation, facilitation and listening
- Solid understanding of the construction industry, specifically in heavy civil/infrastructure
- Strong ability to use rigorous logic and sound reasoning to solve difficult problems
- Ability to plan and manage projects
- Use of email to communicate with internal and external customers and vendors
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (HCSS, Vista, and Tenna desirable)
- Driven to meeting or exceeding business and financial milestones
