The Manager II supervises and directs subordinate supervisors and staff in the completion of all Department rule making activities; the Office of Legal Services (OLS) administrative, technical, and legal support services; and responses to record requests.
Provides oversight and direction for Administrative Services and Legal and Technical Support, including strategic planning and the organization and evaluation of administrative, technical, and legal support services within the OLS. Responsibilities include financial management; reporting and policy and procedure development; facilities management; health and safety coordination; procurement and contracts; information technology; asset management; budget proposal tracking; personnel management services; and administration of Pro Law, Relativity, and GovQA.
The Manager also oversees regulation development and other Department regulatory activities, ensuring alignment with the Department’s goals and the California Administrative Procedure Act (APA). The role provides high‑level assistance and recommendations to the Deputy Director and Chief Counsel, and ensures coordination of highly sensitive OLS administrative and technical functions.
Additionally, the Manager approaches Public Records Act (PRA) requests, manages the Department’s PRA and Subpoena Response portals, and supports technological activities within OLS, such as intranet and SharePoint sites. The incumbent is a member of the OLS Senior Management Team and the full OLS Management Team.
