Job Description

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is the backbone of California’s health care safety net. In this role, the Unit Chief oversees teams that provide recruitment, certification, and the Examination and Certification Online System (ECOS) services to internal partners and the public.

Under the direction of the Supervisor II in the Recruitment and Career Executive Assignment/Exempt Section (RCES), the Unit Chief:

  • Develops and reviews DHCS recruitment and certification programs and initiatives.
  • Creates tools to support recruitment and certification team members, DHCS hiring units, and applicants.
  • Advises and builds collaborative working relationships with internal partners, including DHCS hiring managers, personnel liaisons, and HRD team members.
