Position Overview:As a Group Lead Manufacturing Technician, Business title Group Lead Tool Crib, you will provide the coordination for daily duties, work assignments to all team members, closely monitor the manufacturing progress, and provide support of assigned employees. The Group Lead is a hands-on production leader responsible for coordinating daily work activities, providing technical guidance, supporting workforce development, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This role serves as a key resource for the team by ensuring adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives while fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and employee engagement
- Serve as a highly skilled and experienced team member who leads by example while working alongside the production team to achieve operational objectives.
- Support daily production activities through hands-on execution of work orders, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and delivery requirements are consistently met.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members by assisting with troubleshooting, problem resolution, tool usage, and onboarding of new assignments and processes.
- Perform quality inspections and verify workmanship standards, including the creation, review, and validation of Process Control Records (PCRs) and other production documentation.
- Facilitate on-job training and knowledge sharing to enhance team capability, technical proficiency, and overall workforce effectiveness.
- Partner with leadership by providing objective input regarding team performance, development opportunities, skills progression, and operational effectiveness.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment through adherence to 6S principles and established workplace standards.
- Demonstrate cost awareness and business acumen by supporting efficient use of labor, materials, equipment, and resources while maintaining focus on quality and customer requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence by constructively challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, supporting corrective actions, and implementing sustainable operational enhancements.
- Lead and support daily manufacturing operations by coordinating workflow, defining production work steps, task sequencing, cycle times, and labor requirements to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized work instructions and best practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, compliance, and high-quality output across the production environment.
- Support the implementation of manufacturing process improvements, equipment enhancements, and new technologies that improve operational performance, productivity, and product quality.
- Provide leadership and coordination across production, maintenance, quality, and other cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and support achievement of business objectives.
- Monitor safety performance and proactively identify, communicate, and raise hazards, incidents, and compliance concerns to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a role model for Siemens values by promoting teamwork, accountability, respect, ownership, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
- High School Graduate/GED
- Minimum of 2 Years’ experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of products, processes and tools.
- Demonstrated Mechanical and or Electrical aptitude.
- Exhibits ability to utilize SAP proficiently.
- Proven ability to train and mentor team members.
