Job Overview
Shriners Children’s Northern California, a premier provider of pediatric subspecialties medical center, is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our team in the Outpatient Clinic. The Nurse Supervisor provides leadership in working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Clinical skills and tasks will comprise 80‑90% of the Supervisor’s responsibilities.
The role ensures that assignments utilize staff competency, organizes work, delegates tasks, and demonstrates strong time‑management and organizational skills. This is a full‑time, exempt position. Compensation ranges from $165,838 to $248,955 per year and is determined based on experience and departmental equity.
- Provides mentoring and coaching for staff in clinical expertise, professional role modeling, and clinical direction.
- Actively promotes and supports Nursing and Performance Improvement activities.
- Facilitates projects presented by manager and/or leadership team.
- Assists in the hiring process and new staff orientation and annual appraisals.
- Manages the day‑to‑day unit operations and collaborates with other departments regarding patient care.
- Independently and completely performs assessment and identifies appropriate nursing interventions and/or patient care standards; collects and analyzes basic assessment data while utilizing resources.
- Continuously evaluates patient care and suggests changes to ensure optimal patient care.
- Relays patients’ needs to physician and obtains orders to meet these needs.
- Participates in orientation of RNs, Patient Care Assistants, nursing students, and float or agency nurses.

Required:
- BSN
- RN license in CA
- BLS
- PALS
- 1 year experience as a Charge Nurse/Team Lead
