Pediatric Float Team Nurse Practitioner I/II-PCS Advanced Practice Providers
Provide independent advanced-level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis. Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and specialty protocols such as chemotherapy. Perform non-invasive or invasive procedures, including operative first assist, according to standardized procedures and licensure. Collaborate with attending physicians, nurses, residents, and ancillary staff, acting as an expert resource in a team-based environment.
Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, applicants should upload license and/or certification documents.
- Five (5) or more years of recent experience as a pediatric critical care RN or in an equally medically complex area.
- Master’s degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR.
- National nurse practitioner board certification in an aligned specialty with the practice area.
- AHA PALS within 7 days of hire.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
- Self‑direction and organizational skills to function independently.
- Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing as a billable provider.

Department‑Specific Job ScopeCare inpatient pediatric patients across surgical and medical services, including ICU and ward level care. Order medications and diagnostic testing, interpret laboratory values and diagnostic test results, and manage admission, transfer, and discharge planning. Document care with daily progress notes and procedure notes. Perform invasive procedures within scope of practice. Provide education to patients, families, and medical staff, and participate in research or quality improvement studies.
