Position: Registered Nurse (Full Time)

Position Summary

The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care. This role is based at the Sierra Vista Hospital, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in southern Sacramento, and involves working in a full-service mental health environment.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the behavioral health nursing team.
  • Provide patient care, including medication administration and assessment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care plans.
  • Complete cross-functional training to enable seamless care across the facility.
  • Work flexible hours and overtime when required.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Graduate from an accredited nursing school (Associate’s degree accepted; Bachelor’s preferred).
  • Experience
    :
    Minimum 6 months, experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
  • Licensure
    :
    Current state board of nursing license; valid driver’s license preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
  • Must hold CPR certification.
  • Require completion of the hospital’s behavioral and physical management training program, including de‑escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, prior to assisting in procedures.
