Position Overview
We are seeking a Nurse Instructor, Correctional Facility (NI, CF) to support staff development and training at California State Prison, Sacramento in Repsa, CA.

MissionTo facilitate the successful reintegration of the individuals in our care back to their communities equipped with the tools to be drug‑free, healthy, and employable members of society by providing education, treatment, rehabilitative, and restorative justice programs, all in a safe and humane environment.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Chief Nurse Executive or Director of Nursing, the Nurse Instructor (NI), Correctional Facility (CF) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, assessing, and evaluating the training, educational and competency programs for all nursing personnel in compliance with the Incarcerated Medical Services Policies and Procedures, the Mental Health Services Delivery System (MHSDS) Program Guide, and the various levels of nursing licensure.
The NI, CF works with management and other health care providers to address and meet the ongoing training needs of the staff, facilitate and provide orientation programs for new employees, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost‑effective use of health care resources.
The NI, CF is experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of the nursing process, including nursing protocols, policies and procedures, treatments, nursing scopes of practice, principles, methods and strategies of teaching and learning, and the needs of adult learners.
Minimum Qualifications- Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse in California.
- Either:
- Possession of a valid California standard designated subjects teaching credential with specialization in vocational trade and technical teaching or equivalent credential.
- Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in teaching nursing or in staff development.
- One year of working experience as a Registered Nurse. (Possession of a Master’s Degree in Nursing may be substituted for the required experience.)
- Education:
Possession of a bachelor’s degree.
