Pulmonary Medicine Associates (PMA), treating patients in the greater Sacramento area for over 50 years, currently has an opening for an Advanced Practice Provider to be part of our hospital ICU care team in the Greater Sacramento area. - Under the general supervision of a physician, provide care to hospital ICU patients using established protocols as required by PMA and Hospital policy.
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations for critically ill adult patients.
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with acute, complex, and life-threatening conditions.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, radiologic, and diagnostic studies.
- Prescribe medications, blood products, fluids, and other therapies within scope of practice.
- Perform invasive procedures
- Monitor ventilator management in collaboration with respiratory therapy and intensivists.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized plans of care.
- Respond to rapid response and code blue activations as assigned.
- Provide consultation regarding critical care management.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, prognosis, and goals of care.
- Collaborate with consulting specialists and ancillary services to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with evidence-based practice guidelines, quality initiatives, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement projects, peer review, and clinical education.
- Assist with discharge planning and transitions of care when appropriate.
- Maintain continuing education and competency requirements.
- Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP)
- Current, unrestricted California NP license ACNP preferred
- Current Board certification in relevant specialty
- Current DEA certificate without restriction
- ACLS required.
- Advanced knowledge of critical care medicine and pathophysiology.
- Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to manage multiple critically ill patients simultaneously.
- Proficiency in interpreting ECGs, ABGs, imaging studies, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure in rapidly changing clinical situations.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
