Registered Nurse – PACU

Job Summary:

Provides specialized postoperative care for patients recovering from surgery, anesthesia, or diagnostic procedures in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Ensures patient stability, monitors vital signs, and manages pain and complications during the immediate recovery phase.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition continuously to identify changes in vital signs or symptoms.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed to manage pain, nausea, and other post-procedure issues.
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and healthcare teams to ensure smooth recovery transitions.
• Document patient care, observations, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies or adverse events to stabilize patient conditions.
• Educate patients and families about post-discharge care and recovery expectations.

Qualifications:

• Valid CA State RN license uploaded in Nursys within the last 2 weeks.
• At least 2 years of recent PACU or critical care nursing experience.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS with current expiration dates (AHA or ARC).
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage vital signs, pain, and adverse reactions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills requiring references within the last year.
