Current CA LVN licensure required. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification for infant, child, and adult required. The Licensed Vocational Nurse is expected to display the skills necessary to provide total patient care including but not limited to PPD Testing and Reading, SQ, IM and administration, Glucometer usage, quality communication skills and Standard Precautions
Work ExperiencePrefer experience in ambulatory or community clinic setting;
Knowledge of CHDP and community health agencies strongly encouraged;
Must demonstrate desire and ability to work with children and families in multicultural environment;
Prefer bilingual in Spanish.
Graduate of an accredited school for LVNs.

Coordination
- Support the medical care of patients under the direction of the medical staff pursuant to the objectives of the clinic and in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act in the State of California.
- Maintains accurate, complete and timely documentation of all patient care.
- Provide PPD testing and reading as well as SQ, IM and administration
- Administer medications as directed by the provider, start intravenous fluids if IV certified as directed by the provider
- Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action
- Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds
- Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave
- Measure and record patients’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
- Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs
- Collect urine samples and perform routine tests directed by the Provider; prepare specimens for testing or lab pickup
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures
- Use masks, gloves and safety glasses to protect themselves and their patients from infectious diseases
- Carry an open panel for patient visits that will consists of BP checks, new patient intakes, vaccines/immunizations, patient education, and more.
- Responsible for the organization and coordination of patient care within the clinic to ensure quality and safe delivery of patient care.
- Coordinates referral of services to/from other health care providers
- Assist in development of clinical policies and procedures as they pertain to the delivery of patient care.
- Practices within the scope of nursing licensure, provides nursing care to clinic patients, including history, presenting symptoms, clinical assessment, screening, diagnostic testing, administration of medication
- Assist in staff training as needed
- Provide information and assistance to patients, visitors and telephone callers and provides services in a manner that is ethnically, culturally and financially sensitive.
- Conducts triage for walk‑in, call‑in, or urgently ill patients.
- Participates in staff meetings and in‑service training and contributes ideas for personal and professional growth.

- Maintain sufficient inventory of all facility medications and place orders as necessary
- Maintain and catalog all sample drugs from Pharmaceutical representatives
- Checking for medication outdates; remove from inventory and dispose according to manufacturers recommendation
- Read Patient and Employee PPD's
- Resolve most clinic emergencies such as spills, vomit, etc
- Triage patients as needed, ensuring prompt medical care is provided, or emergency services as needed
- Administer the majority of Rochepin IM, GI cocktails, and Insulin
- When supervisor is absent, act as interim supervisor to handle staffing coverage and medical support problems that arise
