Role DescriptionThis Wildlife Biologist position is a temporary, on-site role located in the Greater Sacramento/Stockton area. The role involves conducting field surveys, monitoring wildlife, and assessing habitats to support environmental research and project requirements. Additional responsibilities include reporting findings, assisting in environmental compliance, and collaborating with other team members to support data collection and analysis. Work will involve physical activity outdoors in a variety of environmental conditions.
Qualifications- Extensive knowledge and experience in Wildlife Biology and Wildlife Management
- Familiarity with Botany and understanding of plant systems
- Expertise in the study and monitoring of Fish and Wildlife populations
- Proficiency in conducting field surveys and environmental assessments
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Experience working in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations is preferred
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Management, or related fields
- Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
We are searching for an on-call/standby wildlife biologist for construction monitoring. It is a part time to full time work schedule, with up to 12 hour days, and Monday through Saturday. Please see the qualification requirements below.
Professional experience with California protected species, nesting bird surveys and monitoring, MBTA, giant garter snake (GGS) survey, Valley Elderberry , bat survey, , and monitoring, is preferred.
Minimum academic preferences:
Bachelor's degree with knowledge of mammalogy, herpetology, ornithology, and wildlife biology. Lesser degree with wildlife certificates and professional experience may be considered.
Please have at least 3 to 6 months prior professional experience with survey, monitoring, and California Giant Garter Snake and nesting or listed bird species.
