CEE - BRAVE Research Assistant - Sacramento

Job Description

The position responsibilities include supporting the BRAVE (Bioaerosol Risk Assessment interVention Engineering) initiative in conducting research in the Sacramento, CA area.

The position requires the candidate to travel between two daycare centers in Sacramento, CA on Monday mornings to change filters and batteries in air samplers. The candidate will then mail the removed filters to a research lab for testing and recharge the batteries. Expected to take 3–4 hours per week.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or higher degree in a STEM field.
• Availability Monday mornings at 7:30 am – 10:30 am (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday).
• Transportation between two locations.
• Ability to safely use a small ladder to access items above a ceiling.
• Precision and attention to detail.

• Experience in collecting and handling air samples using standard sampling techniques.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining air sampling pumps.
• Background in aerosol science, including sampling, analysis, and related laboratory methods.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.

Overtime Status:
Non‑Exempt – Eligible for overtime.

Appointment Type:
Regular.

Salary Information: $25 per hour.

Hours per week: 10.
