Hybrid Clinical Research Supervisor
The Clinical Research Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of clinical research staff supporting a portfolio of complex clinical studies. This role provides leadership to Clinical Research Coordinators, Data Coordinators, and other research personnel to ensure studies are conducted in compliance with protocol requirements, regulatory obligations, institutional policies, and sponsor expectations.
The Clinical Research Supervisor oversees operational workflows, staff development, quality assurance initiatives, and clinical trial execution while serving as a key liaison between research teams, sponsors, regulatory agencies, and institutional stakeholders.
Research Operations & Study Oversight
- Oversee the conduct and coordination of multiple clinical research studies across various therapeutic areas.
- Ensure adherence to study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), institutional policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor study progress, workload distribution, and resource allocation across the research team.
- Support study start-up, enrollment, data collection, study closeout activities, and ongoing trial management.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of study documentation and data entry requirements.
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Provide direct supervision and mentorship to Clinical Research Coordinators, Data Coordinators, and other research staff.
- Manage staff assignments, priorities, and performance expectations.
- Conduct employee training, onboarding, coaching, and professional development activities.
- Participate in recruitment, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and other personnel-related responsibilities.
- Foster a collaborative, compliant, and patient-focused research environment.

This is a contract position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
