Position: Cook (Per Diem)

Responsibilities

8. Conveniently located in northern Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited,
-bed acute psychiatric hospital offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for substance abuse and chemical dependency issues with drugs and alcohol. Heritage Oaks is a Medicare provider in addition to contracts with most commercial health insurance plans. We are committed to providing service excellence to all and ensuring our patients receive the optimal level of care that will be most beneficial to their health and recovery.

We are currently looking for a per-diem
Cook. The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. Comply with facility and departmental policies and procedures regarding food services offered. Follow menus and recipes as provided by the Director of Dietary. Follow posted cleaning schedule and ensure a clean work area and dining room at all times.

  • Open the kitchen and ensure organization of daily events.
  • Follow menus and recipes as provided by the Director of Dietary.
  • Prepare meals and beverages according to menu cycle and daily production sheet, providing attention to attractive and tasteful meals.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience :
Must have at least two (2) years experience in quantity cooking, a basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation and possession of a food service sanitation certificate as required; experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils; and some prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification required.
