Aboutthis Role
The Accounting Administrator I, Specialist (AAI) serves as a lead over the Federal Reporting Section and acts as a subject matter expert on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements and waiver implementation. The incumbent oversees accounting staff in the CMS-64 Unit, including preparation of the quarterly CMS-64 reports and reconciliations between the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) and the State Controller's Office (SCO).
Reconciliations include cash and appropriation balances among the Health Care Deposit Fund and various special accounts and programs within the Medical Care Services - Medicaid Programs, including but not limited to drug rebates, multiple waiver programs, and the Managed Care Program.
- Lead and oversee the CMS-64 unit and related accounting staff duties.
- Prepare quarterly CMS-64 reports and perform reconciliations between FI$Cal and SCO.
- Conduct reconciliations for cash and appropriation balances across related funds and programs, including drug rebates and waiver programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure CMS requirements are met.
The incumbent will work in a professional office setting located at EEC in Midtown Sacramento, across from the State Capitol. Telework details are described in the Telework Information section below.
