Entek is currently seeking a CSST certified Industrial Hygiene (IH) Field Specialist for environmental consulting that primarily focuses on items related to Lead, Asbestos, Moisture, Mold, and related Health & Safety testing and compliance. We are seeking candidates who have completed their CSST certification and have testing and sampling experience.
The IH Field Specialists will be expected to obtain additional certifications in areas of asbestos, lead, safety, and industrial hygiene.
This role will report directly to an IH Project Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This role is on a shift based schedule and occasionally will have to work weekends. The role is scheduled for standard 8 hour schedules, and successful candidates should be available to work between the hours of 6am and 8pm.
This role regularly engages in outdoor work and successful candidates will need to be able to perform work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather. The job requires climbing of ladders, working on elevated platforms and roofs, and working in confined spaces. IH Field Specialists regularly need to transport, lift, and carry customary job tools, up to 50 lbs.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting project managers in completing field based inspections including but not limited to: hazardous materials surveys (such as asbestos and lead), air monitoring, exposure assessments, and other environmental surveys.
- Responding to emergency water intrusions or other releases of hazardous materials.
- Collecting bulk samples of potentially hazardous materials.
- Collecting air samples, and providing risk based assessments for clients.
- Draft technical reports for clients.
- Maintain field equipment, tools, and supplies in good working condition.
- Complete administrative/business related tasks on time.
- High School Diploma or GED (additional education or technical training welcome).
- Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and ability to maintain required insurance (mileage reimbursed).
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally work while wearing full PPE including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, hard hats, and safety gear.
- Must be able to work at heights, on ladders, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform physically demanding field tasks.
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures, protocols, and sampling instructions.
- Willingness to work all types of field assignments, including strenuous or dirty environments.
