The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) could be the place for you! Under the direct supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the Scientific Aid assists professional staff in a variety of technical and routine scientific tasks.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Obtains, organizes, and reviews pesticide and environmental data
• Codes and enters environmental data into departmental databases
• Retrieves data from a departmental database and analyzes this data using statistical, spreadsheet, and word processing software
• Researches and analyzes environmental contamination issues
• Produces Environmental Fate Reports using DPR publication guidelines
• Prepares Standard Operating Procedures using DPR publication guidelines
• Assists Environmental Scientists in the collection and transportation of sediment, water, and air samples
• Prepares sampling materials and supplies (label sample containers, calibrate sampling equipment, etc.)
• Prepares documentation (chain of custody records and sample tracking records)
• Prepares maps
• Delivers samples to the lab
• Maintains and operates sampling equipment
• Aids with document formatting and converts documents to be Americans with Disabilities Act compliant for accessible web posting
