Description
The Security Engineering Program (SEP) under Homeland and Force Protection at Leidos currently has an opening within the Professional Services Support (PSS) Program for a Site Security Specialist. The Site Security Specialist will directly support the customer and be committed to protecting classified information, assets, and secure spaces. The candidate will serve as a security team member and will directly interface and collaborate with key leaders and customers.
Specifically, the candidate will safeguard all assets and information, process and manage SCIF access control requirements and visit requests, provide site escort to uncleared vendors, offer security training, and oversee the implementation of security policies and procedures within the facility. Areas of emphasis are physical security, information security, OPSEC, and verification of clearances and accesses. The Site Security Specialist will be required to interact with and provide security support to senior DoD officials.
Other duties may be assigned as needed. The position is at a customer site in the Sacramento, CA, metro area.
- Must possess a minimum of a TS/SCI clearance
- Minimum of eight (8) years of U.S. government experience in SCIF/SAPF Physical Security management with some Information Security, Personnel Security (PERSEC), and Operations Security (OPSEC) experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or an additional 2 years of experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ICD 705, the NISPOM, and applicable manuals, directives, policies, and procedures.
- Hands‑on experience in physical security assessments/inspections and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)/Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) security requirements.
- Must be an expert in managing the day‑to‑day security operations of a SCIF.
- Excellent communication (both oral and written), organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy:
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer.
- Experience as a COMSEC Custodian.
- Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans.
- Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Experience in accreditation of SCIFs/TSCIFs.
- Experience as a security professional supporting the Intelligence Community.
